Staying active during the cold winter months comes with plenty of benefits. Not only does it help boost your mood and improve physical fitness, but regular exercise can also strengthen your immune system and reduce stress levels. Being in the natural elements with plants and animals has been shown to reduce stress levels, improve mood, and boost creativity.

From snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, ice fishing, ice skating and sledding, there are plenty of activities that will keep you entertained. Some of our favorite locations to partake in outdoor activities include: Lake of the Woods, Rocky Point, Diamond Lake, Crater Lake, Willamette, Mt. Bachelor, Warner Canyon Ski Area, Mt. Shasta, Running Y, and the Steens Sports Park Walking/Running Paths. All are beautiful in the winter months, and offer great way to stay active, even when it’s cold. These outdoor winter activities can be a great way to get fresh air and exercise, but it’s important to stay warm when you're out in the cold. A few tips for staying warm include dressing in layers, wearing insulated boots and gloves, drinking hot liquids like tea or cocoa throughout the day, and using hand warmers or foot heat packs. With these simple steps in mind, you can enjoy winter activities without getting too cold!

So, this winter season, bundle up, stay active, and take advantage of the great outdoors!
